Toy Story 3 Scalextric from Hornby.
Hornby is hoping for a boost in sales of their Toy Story themed scalextric track, on the release of Toy Story 3.
The film is currently due for release in the UK this year on July the 23rd. This install of the film sees Woody, Buzz and their friends dumped in a day care centre as Andy, the kid in the film, is now all grown up and off to college.
Hornby, who also own Corgi and Airfix and who are probably better known for their train sets, have seen sales rise this year. Profits are down but this is due to debts being cut in the first half of the year.
Along with the rights to the Toy Story scalextric, Hornby also have a range for the 2012 olympics and hope to see a greater improvement next year. Since overcoming supplier problems in China, confidence has returned in Hornby's ability to deliver it's expected demand in Europe for this year and for Christmas.
Suppliers have been stocking Hornby products in expectation of a good end of year. Giving hope to an age old toy company and it's fans, still managing to deliver quality toys for boys, and men alike, where many have fallen by the wayside since the heyday of scalextric and train sets.

How to Service the RX Motor in Your Scalextric Car The earlier Scalextric cars produced in the
1960s were manufactured with open frame motors the most common of which
is known as the RX motor. This motor was also manufactured to many of
the Hornby locomotives of the time.
Scalextric - The Slot Car Originators Slot car racing is a hobby that is timeless, and
when you hear the words, one name stands above all else: Scalextric.
Scalextric was established in 1952 from the Scalex brand of Minimodels
Ltd., which was powered by a clockwork system. What this means is that
it used a series of gears to mechanically power each car. They
essentially took the words Scalex and electric, and merged them to form
Scalextric.
7 Steps to Improve the Track Performance of Your Classic Scalextric Car The earlier Scalextric cars from the 1970s and
1980s are great models but can seem slow and difficult to race by the
standards set by up to date Scalextric cars. Luckily these classic
Scalextric cars can be upgraded to greatly improve their track
performance making them competitive on the track while not removing any
of the enjoyment and skill required for the earlier Scalextric cars.
